How to Transition Your Wardrobe From Winter to Spring

Hey y'all!

It is February and we are just starting to hit that weird time time of the year in Texas when we begin to transition from Winter to Spring. If I'm being totally honest, we have random weather here all the time lol. However, this time of year- between February and March we still have days that are really chilly and days that are in the 70's.

Making a wardrobe transition from Winter to Spring can be overwhelming at times. Especially if you live in areas (like Texas) that tend to throw screwballs during the day. You never know what to wear. You wake up and it is a chilly 30+ degrees but come lunch time, you are sweating buckets because it is now in the mid 70's.

So- just how do you transition your wardrobe from Winter to Spring?

The answers are simple.. so let's get to it.

1. Sweaters- I keep sweaters on or by me all year round. I don't know why really other than the fact that I love them. A sweater is a must when mixing your Spring clothes with your Winter clothes. Try carrying a variety of sweaters in your closet. I have 3 types of sweaters that I keep in my closet. The heavy ones for those extra brisk days, a medium weight sweater for days that I wear long sleeves and want to have options and the light weight sweater/shaw.  The light weight sweater is great for when I am running errands. It's light enough to not be overwhelming while I'm in the car all day and I don't have to worry about taking it off once I get in the store. Having 3 options will definitely help you transition your wardrobe from Winter to Spring.

2. Colors- Another way to transition your wardrobe from Winter to Spring is to add lighter/ brighter colors. I'm a sucker for mauves and blush tones so you can definitely count on me to have something of the sorts. I personally love wearing contrasting colors. So try adding in pops of bright colors to easily transition.

3. Footwear- Boots can be an all year round thing. If paired right. Instead of wearing your winter knee high boots or your boots with the fur (please sing that like T-Pain so it makes you laugh lol), switch your footwear to lower cut boots like the ones I am wearing. These boots look great with dresses and jeans plus the fabric is light weight so your feet can breathe.

4. Wear Lighter Fabric- When you have your sweaters ^^^, you can add them to lighter fabric clothes. If it gets too warm in your sweater you will have something underneath that is light and cooling. Try mixing in cottons and linens as well as blends that are lighter. I love mixing lighter fabrics with heavier ones when putting together looks that will transition from Winter to Spring. I am comfortable in whatever I wear.

See, that was easy wasn't it?! Transitioning your wardrobe from Winter to Spring is as easy as 1,2,3 (4). You don't have to go out and buy a whole new wardrobe or pack everything all up at once. Like I said before, I always have a sweater with me.. so you bet I have one when transitioning my wardrobe from Winter to Spring.
