For many of us, trying to lose weight, gain weight, get tone or even "shredded" can be mentally and physically exhausting. Not to mention the emotional ups and downs that seem to tag a long as well. During my weight loss journey, I have had many, many ups and downs. From struggling to stay on track of my diet, getting to the gym consistently or even rewarding myself with a night out with friends or a new pair of shoes.

Within these past few years of body reconstruction, I have found that the one thing that keeps me on track more than personal desire is a GREAT partner! Someone to share the highs and lows, someone to look up to and help guide you... and most importantly MOTIVATE  YOU!

So if you are considering having a gym buddy or accountability partner, here are a few perks to consider!

1. Someone to push you- This is number one for sooo many reasons. Whether or not we all admit it, we have some form of competitor inside of us and when we are giving it all we got, that one person can bring out something we didn't even know we had.

2. A trainer- For those that have a trainer, they usually see faster results. Most trainers have an abundance of knowledge when it comes to diet and effective workouts. They guide you in the right direction so you have fewer lows on your journey.

3. Someone to prep with- When it comes down to body reconstruction, everything falls on what it made in the kitchen. If you have ever food prepped before, then you know just how time consuming and how much planning goes into it. But if you have a partner to do it together with, then time, money and planning will be a lot less expensive and stressful. By planning together you have two brains conjuring up delicious ideas. When buying the food you need, it can get expensive. So splitting the bill and buying in bulk definitely stretches your money. Plus it's always fun in the kitchen when you have someone else helping with all the labor!

4. Someone to help you take risks- With a new body comes new clothes. Maybe before you would only stick to one color or style but having someone there to encourage you to try new looks, or colors will definitely keep you positive and motivated. When you see change you want more! Plus it gives you more confidence when you notice the new you!

I'm sure there are many more reasons why you should have an accountability partner but these are a few of my favorite reasons. No matter what the struggle, no matter how long it has taken or how much passion you have for change, make sure you have someone that has your back and be there for someone else that may not be as strong as you!

What do you love about having an accountability partner? Let me know below!

4th of July

4th of July by bybrigettedanielle featuring metal frame glasses

Happy 4th of July! Well almost 4th lol... I am so excited for this years festivities... Usually we go somewhere with friends or family memebers but this year we have decided to take the easy street. No party, no hosting and no extra dishes!! We will be spending it together, just the 6 of us! A small barbecue with stuff I can actually eat lol and the best part of it all.. FREE FIREWORKS! I have never been one to "burn money" so why not go see some free fireworks... I'm always up for free!

Anywho,

Need some style inspiration for the 4th? Then you will surely like this. The 4th of July is a very festive time, not to mention hot. So I always aim for extra comfort during the summer shenanigans. One major thing you need is comfortable jeans. I know shorts would seem to be the best option, but a pair of loose capris would actually be more ideal. More than likely you will be outside all day and the mosquitoes will be at an all time high. So capris are a simple way to avoid getting eaten alive and mounds of sticky bug spray.

Of course, no summer outfit is complete without amazing shades and awesome bag! I hope this look will give you a little inspiration for this 4th of July! What are you planning on wearing? What is your family's tradition?

As you know, it is summer and I am in Kansas City with my hubs! I could not be more thrilled to be with him! Although, being back in the place I grew up has many downsides. One thing I always struggle with when coming back is my weight and being consistent with my workout. I'm pretty sure it's an excuse, but I always get thrown off track.

Being a step parent is no easy road. In fact it can be more tedious, emotional and just down right confusing. You want to keep a solid foundation in your relationship but the thought of saying the wrong thing, not doing something the right way or even the simple fact that you are not their mom or dad can haunt you... trust me.

Summer Shenanigans

Summer Shenanigans by bybrigettedanielle featuring a cell phone purse

So it is summer and you know what that means! Summer shenanigans! While up in Kansas City this summer I will be dreaming about my pool back home and the relaxing beach chairs! So wherever you are do me a favor and take a break for me lol.
While dreaming of being back home in Dallas I was inspired by the warm weather visiting the lake! Oh how I love Texas :)

So I have decided to create an easy style inspiration that is perfect for summer. Whether you are going to concerts, the beach, festivals or camping...  or basically anything wonderful  outside.
This look is simple, fashionable and also affordable! You can get these pieces from the retailers (click the image) or really from just about anywhere.  Can't decide to dress it up or down? Try sexy sandals to dress it up a bit or a pair of canvas shoes for an even more relaxed look!

You can get this look by clicking on the pictures! Happy summer!
