When you think about living a healthy life, the number 100 can be seen as a great thing or a not so great thing. 100 jumping jacks... NOT GREAT, 100 lbs lost, GREAT! 100 crunches (ouch) NOT GREAT, burning 100 Calories... GREAT!

Loosing weight and trying to be healthy at TIMES go hand and hand, even though they are two different things! Not everyone who is healthy wants to loose weight and sometimes people who want to loose weight, don't always make healthy choices.

HAPPY SPRING! (my second favorite time of the year remember?!) We just  got home from a wonderful, yet exhausting Spring Break. Little Miss Thailand turned 8 and little Miss Phoenix lost two teeth in one week! So if you read my last post, you know it was an EVENTFUL week! One plus was that I got to see my hubby everyday! It truly made my heart so full of joy, I could hardly contain it!

Any who, so as you can see from the title of this post it's not about my mushy re-connection with my hubby or how stressed I was over the "break". But, it is actually a post about our little Tea Party! My girls are in love with Ever After High.. everything about it excites them, makes them dream and really makes them laugh out loud. I must admit it is a cute little show. But with the girls' (Phe and Thai) Spring Break the exact same week, which NEVER happens, I decided to throw the girls a tea party and since it was Thais birthday, I thought it would be a nice treat to have everyone over together doing all the girly things she likes!

So after what feels like a million hours of scouring Pinterest for Ever After High themed parties and Tea Party ideas, I came up with a few ideas for theirs!

(I apologize for the awful photos, wasn't very much lighting at my mothers house and it was very rainy)

1. First up, I found so many pins on easy party decor and I have to be honest, this was WAY harder than you think. I had my best friend help me cut 3 plastic table covers and it was very tricky. But, it did it's job, the girls loved it and it added color to a drab room.
An easy way to cover the wall
2. Another Pinterest favorite, hanging balloons! Balloons can get super expensive, fast! So hanging balloons lower the ceiling and make your decor look "full". The girls loved looking at these for some reason lol

3. One of the girls' favorite characters is Apple White. So I added a few fake apples along side one of their Apple White dolls.

4. Since this was a tea party, and a few of the characters and episodes are based on Wonderland, I made "Wonderland Cookies" The first ones are from Pinterest (i'm shocked they actually worked) and the star and heart cookies were from the left over dough... so I just decorated them! The cupcakes were bought from Walmart and were sprayed purple and hot pink to match the EAH main colors. Then, I had them add edible glitter. I added the sugar pearls myself.
Sweet Treats
5. No party is complete without goody bags! Each bag was hand stamped with a key and had a friendship bracelet and one of a kind fabric ring! The scrolls were the official acceptance letter from Headmaster Grimm! Another Pinterest find!
Goodies

6. Finally, Madeleine Hatter inspired hats! My wonderful Aunt made these herself! Each girl had their own!

It wasn't until I went though all the photos on my camera that I realized I missed a few items from our tea party! I made an enchanted mirror by gluing red roses and purple roses around it. We also had princess punch which was delicious! We just mixed pink lemonade and sprite whalaa!

Everyone had a blast! They had on their dresses and more importantly, their smiles! This tea party was definitely one to remember!

As a mom, I wear many hats.... we all do.  and in our house, the hat most worn is mediator and bad cop. This post is definitely inspired by the events of today....

So let me fill you in a tad on our current "situation"... As you may know my husband is an entrepreneur and his business really takes him where ever his heart desires, so for the past 2 months he has been building his business in Kansas City. Sooo yes because it is school time, the kiddies and I are still back in Texas. :(. He comes home once a month for a regional event so I get to see him for about 36 hours a month... whomp whomp whooommp....

So anywho yea, that is how my life is going to be for quite some time now and I THINK I have accepted that! But today was just one of those hair pulling, backwards counting, talking yourself off the ledge from a fiery volcano pit kind of day. It started off great, we went on a "field trip" and made some awesome crafts... we even went out for pizza during lunch! But during these events, an occasional squabble would break out.. the girls are trying to one up each other, the baby is screaming because she wants out of her seat and someone hit someone because someone said something about them.. I even pulled a Dorothy ( my grandma) and pulled over on the side of the road and waited until they "straitened out"

I'm not one to really go on and on about how crappy my day was because I do know a lot of people have it worse, I get that.... but still, on my crappy day meter this one was up there!

So as a mom, I am asking you moms... do you ever just feel like your kids just have days when they are just, to put it nicely, bad??

THIS DRESS IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF MY FAVORITE DRESSES.....

I have never been comfortable with wearing all white (hard to cover my luv handles lol), but this dress I just fell in love with! The fabric is so soft and plus I'm a sucker for lace... The back also has embellished lace panels from the neckline down to about the shoulder blades. Also the fabric is thick enough to where you can't see through but you can still breath easy.

This is another Forever 21 find. Actually my husband and I were on a shopping adventure and he was the one that seen this dress hidden behind mounds of others... He said " here you would like this" and I instantly did lol...

Of course no outfit would be complete with out shoes.. and these babies are just that , my babies! My shoes are Tom Ford and I found them at Neiman Marcus on a sale rack... I almost didn't buy them because one of the pairs was misplaced! Thankfully the sales girl was sweet and went out of her way to locate it for me! These bad boys are brown suede and embellished with gold studs around the ankle and outer part of the heel. And I just paired it with a simple cuff from some little clothing boutique in the mall.

I hope you enjoy this look as well! Remember a little goes a long way!

tip
*** want designer shoes/clothes but on a budget, check the sale racks or shop nordstrom rack or off  5th for amazing steals***

For this SPOTLIGHT piece, I wanted to introduce someone that is truly making a name for herself in the Fitness world! Someone, like many of us... has a story that is motivating and touching.

Ladies and Gents, meet Carragan Langley! A local beauty turned  bikini competitor, and a highly demanded personal trainer. I have personally known Carragan for over 4 years and I have witnessed her journey from an average gym patron to the woman you see today! So in order for you to get to know a little more about her, I decided to ask her a few questions!

1. What made you want to change your lifestyle for the better?

"It all started about 3 1/2 years ago when i walked into 24 hour fitness and made the decision to make a change and stop with the "I'll start tomorrow" excuse. About 4 1/2 years ago I had a bad back injury which led to me quitting sports and creating unhealthy habits. My eating habits were far from a healthy lifestyle. Before you know it I was 80 pounds heavier than I am today. When I first walked into that gym I was a fish out of water and now that gym is my home.  I started  training with a great trainer and within the first month of working out and changing my diet I lost 20 pounds. Nothing feels better than surpassing your goals and knowing that all your hard work and persistence has paid off. Since the start of my fitness journey I have had this mad passion for fitness and taking care of my body (physically, mentally, and spiritually). "

2. What made you want to do a competition? What did you like most about competing? What place did you take?

"If anyone knows me they know I like a challenge. I choose to compete not just for the physical aspect, but I wanted to conquer myself and push my self past my limits. Anyone who has competed knows that it takes more than just a love for working out. It takes willpower, perseverance, and control over your mind. The thing I liked most about competing was the strength I gained within throughout the process of prep. I conquered myself and carried on the willpower and mind control in my everyday life.
My first competition I ended up placing top 3 and I am currently planning my next show."

3. What do you hope your clients get from your knowledge and expertise?

"I want to transform lives like I did my own. I hope to lead them to a healthy lifestyle and create healthy habits that will carry on with them forever. I want to help them reach all of the goals they have set and overall gain confidence in themselves. In return I need them to give me 110 percent not only while I'm training with them, but also when I'm not there to make sure they are following there nutritional program or make sure they get their workout in."

4. To get your day going, what is your go-to breakfast?

"My go-to breakfast usually consists of
1/2 cup of oatmeal -uncooked (depending on my goals at the time, amount may differ)
1/4 cup of blueberries
4 egg whites (with picante sauce) "

Carragan is a certified personal trainer and is currently taking clients in the DFW area. She also has online training packages if you are not located near the DFW area.

green, tan and floral

green, tan and floral by bybrigettedanielle featuring a red necklace

So Spring is my second favorite time of the year( I love fall!) ..simply because my birthday is in Spring and so are majority of my babies lol.

But it seems like there is always something going on in Spring! For us in our house, it is extremely busy because we have the Spring Holy Days! So mix that with birthdays, spring break and deep cleaning, you can only imagine my stress level! It literally goes from wine to hard liquor really quick lol..... But I really enjoy everything that goes on in Spring..

I was inspired to put this piece together for a woman that has a lot going on but can still look great and comfortable! Let's face it, short skirts are fine once in a while but If you are as busy as I am during this time of year... then you may forget once in a while you have on a short skirt! (guilty)

Tea length dresses or even separates  are perfect for Spring, they show just enough leg to say "Hey I'm no longer hibernating!" but also keep you protected against those sudden bursts of wind.

When using bold colors like this green dress, florals or nudes are always a safe bet!

Check out the details below for this outfit!
